Charge Transfer Capacitive Sensing Controller

Charge Transfer Capacitive Sensing Controller
。Monitoring Interface via the ExoSense Platform
。ESP32 Wi-Fi
- Product Description
The controller utilizes the IQS323 capacitive sensing IC, the sensor performs countless micro charge and discharge cycles on the sensing electrode. The IC converts the measured capacitance into digital values (Counts), enabling highly accurate detection of even the smallest changes in capacitance. It also Integrated with the ESP32 Wi-Fi module, the detected data is transmitted to the cloud for remote monitoring.
The controller provides an intuitive user interface for Network Configuration, Location Information Configuration, and MQTT Configuration. Through the ExoSense monitoring platform, users can remotely monitor the equipment status, which is displayed as FREE or IN USE. The status text can be customized to meet specific application requirements, while the system continuously records and logs equipment usage for real-time monitoring and historical analysis.
-Sensing Principle
- Self-Capacitance Sensing - A single electrode forms an electric field with the system ground (GND), enabling capacitance variation detection.
- Touch Button - For terminal-facing configuration, the right terminal is connected to the sensing electrode, while the left terminal is connected to the ground electrode.
- Proximity Sensing - Coaxial/shielded cables are used for signal transmission. The cable shield must be connected to ground; however, the area near the sensing electrode must remain free from grounding objects, as grounding near the electrode will reduce the sensing distance. In proximity sensing applications, a larger electrode area provides a longer sensing distance. The maximum electrode area can reach 36 cm², allowing human body detection at a distance of up to 20 cm.
- LED Status Indicators
The LED on the control unit provides a quick visual indication of the system status:
- Initial Power-Up
The LED turns on once to indicate normal power supply, then turns off for approximately 20 seconds while the device establishes a network connection. - Normal Operation
After successfully connecting to Wi-Fi or entering AP (Access Point) mode, the LED flashes at a constant rate. - LED Status Indicator
A steady, periodic LED flashing pattern indicates that the system is operating normally. - Calibration Mode
When the Calibration button is pressed, the system performs zero-point calibration. During this process, the LED flashes at a faster rate while 30 calibration cycles are executed. Upon completion, the LED returns to its normal flashing pattern. - System Reboot
When the Reboot the System button is pressed, the LED turns off for approximately 20 seconds while the device reconnects to the network. Once the connection is established, the LED resumes flashing at a constant rate.
